Lukas' socks

My 8yo grandson informed me that 'store socks frustrate my feet, Grandma.' Then he asked if I could knit him some socks. This pair is based on Gavin's Socks, by designer Meagheen Ryan. She helped me to tweak her pattern to fit 'older feet'.

The original design was knitted in fingering weight yarn with 48 stitches on size 1 needles for an 18month old. This pair is knitted with worsted weight yarn, 40 st. cast on, on size 3 needles.
